From the Health Services Office (HSO)

February is Philippine Heart Month

Theme: “Mahalin ang Pusong Nagmamahal”

HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS OUTLINED BY THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION SO YOU CAN START MAKING POSITIVE CHANGES IN YOUR BODY THIS YEAR.

Reduce Stress

A few studies have noted a relationship between coronary heart disease and stress in a person’s life. People under stress may overeat, start smoking or smoke more than they otherwise would. Research has even shown that stress reaction in young adults predicts middle-age blood pressure risk.

Aim for a healthy weight

Obesity is highly prevalent, not only among adults but also among children. Good nutrition, calorie intake control, and physical activity are the only ways to maintain a healthy weight.

Obesity places you at risk for high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and insulin resistance— the very factors that heighten your risk for cardiovascular disease.

Random Blood Sugar Test is now available. Have your blood sugar test two (2) hours after a meal.
